Helen Joyce (Voorhees) Dykstra woke to her first heavenly embrace by Jesus Christ on August 25.  She was 83 years old.

Helen was born on February 26, 1934 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the middle child of John and Helena Voorhees.  Her brothers and sisters are Jean, Bud, Reatha, and Harold.  She was married to Arno Dykstra for 65 years, and together they shared a life of love and faith that is a great blessing and inspiration to their family.  Their children are Mike, Gregg, Christine, and Jillinda.

Mom’s greatest impact in life was her absolute and unconditional love for family.  Mom would forgive, accept, affirm and encourage any of our family – no matter what.  All who knew her thank God for this mom, wife, sister, sister in law, aunt, grandma, great-grandma, neighbor and friend.

We will miss her incredibly every day…at each family gathering…and whenever we need a large dose of love or encouragement or supportive prayer. Our greatest hope and assurance is that we will be reunited with her forever in that place of never-ending family reunion and rejoicing.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017, at Hope Church, 2500 E. 98th Street, Indianapolis from 1 pm to 3 pm with a funeral service to follow.
